Operation Renovation was a project for His Hands Extended Children's Home that began March 2017.
We utilized an approximate $40,000.00 USD on renovating the Home. As of Nov. 2019, the "current" (lights), were a huge issue. We were told by JPS, Jamaica Power Service, that the entire Home would have to be rewired. When 2020 came, we continued to have numerous issues with the current. JPS then stated, we would have to erect a "permanent" utility pole that was close to the road. That was completed in February.
In March, we had to fly back to the States. Sis. T was scheduled for back surgery. Two day after landing in the States, Covid shut everything down.
Pastor Steve & Aunty was placed as overseers of the Home, until we could get back. The mothers that lived with us in the Home, continued to look after the
In May 2020, JPS gave a 2 week notice that the power was going to be cut, and would not be reconnected until the entire Home was rewired.
At that time, Pastor Steve and Aunty began looking for another Home. The Lord provided where we are currently located. It is still in Mandeville (not very far from the first Home). It is acutally just down the road from Aunty & Pastor Steve's home.
We do miss the first Home. So much work. So many Teams. So many memories. But we have had to look at it as "a season". We give thanks for where we are now. The Lord has been our provider, still.
